Wow, I can't believe that we are at the end of another month already, where is the time flying too? Well this post will mark the end of the reds for the time being.
My first attempt at a coil pot is done, and I have to admit that it's not really the best.It started out ok. I managed to get the hand of the technique for covering the rope and stitching the coils together, but things went a bit downhill from there. The little pot in the book had straight sides whereas mine ended up coming out from the centre. Not sure what happened, maybe I was pulling the stitches too might or maybe I just didn't get the placement of the coil rows quite right. It's only a little pot - this was made using the hand stitched method in the book. It did come together quite quickly but I don't think I'd want to make anything too large with the hand stitch. There are machine versions later in the book so I may given that a go at some point.Anyhow it might not be the best little pot, but it's found a home in my bedroom. I have a lovely jewellery box that my sister bought me a few years back, but the recent fashion for chunky fashion rings means that those pieces won't fit in the ring draw so they all get to live in my little red pot now instead.
I have enjoyed the month of RED and am looking forward to seeing what the colour of March will be.

It's turned out well, I'm sure it must get easier with practice. I can't wait to find out the next colour
I think it looks quite nice. I have done one a while ago which went very quick on the sewing machine. Check out my blog dated 31 Dec 2010 for a picture of it.
Just wondering which colour March will be.. hope its green !
Your pot looks very sweet; I've always wanted to have a go at pot making but not yet got around to it. I can bet the colour's going to be green - St Patrick's Day is in March.
Great job - cute little bowl!
Lovely bowl. Makes me want to make one.
That's a great little red bowl. I haven't made any of these with the rope, but my friend has and they are really cute!
Looks like a beautiful pot and a lot of work! Great use of your red scraps!
This is adorable...I love it! It would be so cool to make a bowl for each month :)
I think it turned out really cute. My C would love making one of those.
I think it looks great. I'm sure I have this book but have never tried. Maybe I will have a go!!
How sweet. I love the freedom that comes from being able to experiment because the fabric you are playing with is already "just" scraps. What a fun excuse to try something new:)
look how nice those rings look in your cute little red scrappy pot! Okay,so what if it didn't turn out perfect, you still got rid of some of those red scraps and tried a new technique to boot!
Your little red pot turned out really cute and perfect for your chunky jewellry :) Bet you had fun trying out a new technique too. Ellyx
So charming, your little red pot! I think you can be content with your work - it doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful!
If you like to see a pot - or maybe rather mat - I did out of grey scrap threads once, this is the link to it:

I think your pot turned out pretty well and you have found a great use for it.
