Bad Blogger

I've been such a bad blogger recently. Can't believe it's been a couple of weeks since I posted, I have plenty of excuses though ;) It's been a combination of laziness, lack of time on the computer, packing up the house, planning for the future, days out, time spent with family and good friends and I've had a birthday to celebrate. Phew! No wonder I'm exhausted, my brain hurts just thinking about that list.

Hopefully normal service will be resumed shortly.......

New Start - Crazy Tea Cozy

As the threadkeeper went so well I figured I'd have a go at tackling one of the other kits that I bought at the NEC earlier this year. Time for something that's totally different to the precise embroidery required in the threadkeeper though.

When I saw Madeleine Millington's stand at the show, full of colour and soft fabrics, I just couldn't resist. Even though I'm a bit of an exception - an English gal who doesn't drink tea - it was the tea cosy pattern that came home with me, along with a couple of bags of scraps cut from old wool blankets. As you can see a start has been made.
It's fun to work some crazy patchwork, haven't done any in a while. Freeing not to be working to any particular pattern and just adding stitches wherever they want to go. After he crazy work has been done there will be plenty of embellishment to do, this is going to be one loud tea cosy :)

Millie's Photoshoot

You might already know that I am owned by 4 lovely kitties Hector, Hugo, Oscar and Pip. You've probably also heard me going on about moving for ages now, what I probably haven't mentioned is that once it's all sorted we will be a 6 cat household, gulp! (there is also the prospect of lucky number 7 in the not too distant future, but I'm not going to say too much about that now).
I thought it was about time I introduced you to the new ladies in my life Millie and Molly. Millie is Molly's Mum, she is an old girl now but you might be able to tell by this silly photo shoot we had in the garden the other day that she still has plenty of kitten left in her.
Here she is trying to pretend to be asleep, I think she was trying to get me to put the camera away
But in the end she couldn't resist a peep to see if I was still there.
And one finally gorgeous face for the camera :) Daughter Molly has proved to be somewhat more camera shy, this is the best I've been able to do for now But she won't be able to hide from the camera forever .....

Threadkeeper finished

The thread keeper is finished. I enjoyed stitching with these fabulous colours so in the end it came together pretty quickly. It now lives on the embroidery scissors which belonged to my Mum. I think she would have liked it.
I have another kit for a scissor fob, but I think I'll do something else before I start that one.
