We're hoping for a good year this year, and I've been shopping the sales this January. Not for clothes, or furniture, or any of the usual stuff. Instead I've been seeking out some bargain deals which will take us away to explore new places both in this country and further afield.
So far we have weekends away booked for February, March, April and August. A week away in June and plans for two weeks in November. Some of the accommodation is bargain basement, no frills and certainly no luxury but who cares, it's just somewhere to sleep at the end of the day and I'm willing to have the basics if it means we can get away more.
The picture is of a cute leather money box, which I also found in the sales, this has now replaced orange kitty as the home for all our loose change ... which every now and then finds it's way in to the holiday account at the bank. It's surprising how quickly it adds up.
Are you planning any exciting trips this year?

:( no holidays planned this year.
I have a leather cat money box in the same style, picked up at a charity shop. But the money from there finds its way into my sons' pockets! No great plans yet, but we do hope to take our motorhome away several times this year, and hopefully find out way to France with it.
I have had a 'holiday' account for over 30 years. Mind you I have accounts for everything, holidays, Christmas, sewing, household, etc, etc. When the bank ring to ask if I need help organising my money, I go through my accounts with them and they ask if I want a job
Anyway, I digress! Last weekend we booked a long weekend in Venice for April. Yeah!
So pleased you have so many lovely things planned for this year and I look forward to hearing about them all.
oh! and I looooove the wellypant money box :-)
I absolutely love the elephant money box (Im ever so slightly obsessed with elephants at the moment. Hope to go to Florence at the end of February!
Sweet money box! No, sorry no plans for this year yet! We may do some place close later this year, would love to do a cruise, but everything else needs to be attended to in this house that is falling apart. lol
Glad to hear you have so many trips planned. Looking forward to hearing about them all. No holidays planned for us this year. We are putting all our money to the our wedding this year. :-)
