And the knitting hasn't stopped there. I've decided to challenge myself a bit with another hat for Julie. Mostly I'm comfortable just doing straight forward stocking stitch, but I'm attempting a basic lace pattern this time and it's actually been a lot easier than I thought it might be.

Slouchy Hat
I'm thinking of going wild and tresting myself to two new hats this winter as there is another hat pattern that I really like in the Sidar book that I bought a few weeks back, and as I still haven't been able to come up with yarns for the blanket my needles are sitting idle as of this moment in time :)

Extreme Knitting
In the meantime I thought I'd tell you about my extreme knitting experience. Last winter I lived in a pair of lovely wrist warmers that I'd knitted up. Unfortunately somewhere along the line, they got gathered up with a load of clothes to wash and I ended up felting them, doh! I knew that I needed to make another pair, so way back in June when I was on holiday in the Lakes the wrist warmers were one of the projects I took to work on.
Here I am adding a few rows in the gusting winds at the end of a lovely day spent walking the fells alongside Wast Water. If you look closely you can see the conditions I had to contend with as my knitting is flying around in the breeze :)

Marilyn
The knitting is finished. If you have been reading for a while you have probably figured out that I love rock music, so when I saw this Marilyn Manson doll I just had to make one of my own :)
It was a really easy pattern to make, which is probably a good job as I only have basic knitting skills. Anyway I love how he turned out, so much fun!
In the original pattern he has a ring through his nose but I didn't have anything small enough so swapped it for a safety pin, I might swap it out for a ring eventually though. I wonder how Marilyn would feel about knowing he is available to knit, lol! Knitting and rock and roll are not two things easily associated with each other, but that's another reason that I just loved the idea and had to make my own Marilyn.

Knitting Again
After a week or two of feeling a bit wishy washy I can feel the melancholy lifting. Had an afternoon off work and went for a beautiful walk in the sunshine which really lifted my spirits. I'll share some pics from the walk another time.
In the meantime I've picked up the knitting again, hopefully I'll be sharing the finished article soon :)

Legs
Posts about crafting have been few and far between this last week or so. I had last week off work and was so busy getting out and about hardly a stitch was made! I'll be telling you all about last weeks adventures in posts to come . For now though to round out the month there is just time to update you on some knitting progress.
This fellow now has legs. I know, I know, my goal for the month was to have this guy finished and this is not much to show but some progress is better than none, right? I have also knitted one arm but it's not joined or stuffed yet so not in the pic.
