Ready to Burn

So after waiting for my camera battery to charge and attempting unsuccessfully to get a good picture of my bag in progress I figured out that the piece is just about the right size to fit under the scanner.
I'm now at the stage where I'm supposed to burn holes to create some void spaces in the design. After all time it took to stitch the darn thing I've decided not to dive in and burn straight away without some practise. So today I will be stitching up a basic grid pattern using the same techniques to practise my burning on. Wish me luck!

It's a lovely design, good idea to try the burning on something else first. hope it works well, and look forward to seeing the next stage.

Those daisys look really gorgeous. I hope that the burning back works out ok. Will be good to see it at the next stage.

That's a lovely design and beautifully worked, I too would be scared of burning into it. I do hope it turns out well for you Angela. Can't you make another one to burn and save that one :)

You will be fine with the soldering iron Angela, but I can understand your caution... it is a lovely piece of work. Glad you managed to scan it... now where did I put mine.. Still have not found my soldering iron. Wonder if dh had borrowed it?
Best Wishes

Wow! That is wonderful stitching. It's going to be a beautiful bag. Looks like you did OK on your practice burning so I'm sure it will be gorgeous when it is completed. Just found your blog through Sharon B's TIF challenge page.
