I'm Dreaming of an Orange Christmas

Here's what I have been stitching these last couple of days. First off some postcards for a My Favourite colour swap. Ok so if you are a regular visitor here it will come as no surprise that my cards are orange :)
This is quite a big swap and so far I've made about half of the cards that I need, it's taking sometime but I don't mind working with orange always makes me smile.

Last night was the embroiderers guild meeting and we had a sewing evening. We all made little tree ornaments, all stitched by hand, a couple of corners on my turned out a bit wonky but I still think it's cute. I just need to add a bit of ribbon and then grapple the tree out of the attic to add my decoration to! I've also been working a few Christmas cards, I've left it way too late to make all of mine handmade this year but I am doing a few for family and friends, hopefully I will have them finished and ready to share by the weekend.

Teapot

Recently I have been inspired by all of the lovely Teapots that Sue has been making. Sadly I'm not as clever as Sue as to come up with my own pattern, so I decided to try out a pattern from one of Kumiko Sudo's books. Here is what I ended up with.I think it turned out pretty cute. I decided to send it to Ali as part of an art meme I had posted sometime ago, I know she received it today so it's safe to share the picture without spoiling the surprise.

This evening I have also been working on putting a few little quilt sandwiches together. I decided to take a machine quilting class at my local LQS. I have gotten out of the quilting habit recently and as I have two quilt tops but together waiting to be finished I decided it was about time I took a class to brush up a bit. It will also do me good to be show at last how to get the best use of that walking foot that I got with my machine :) The brief for the class is to take a few little quiltlets along to practise different techniques so I have been adding some borders and things on to a few orphans that I have lying around. I hope to get some pictures up tomorrow of what I have done so far and will then show the after pictures on Thursday night after the class. I'm taking a day off work to take the class so I'm looking forward to lots of fun.
